Farmhouse Star
The plan I had for January was to sew a stack of baby quilts with stash so I had some on hand. Little did I know that most of what I sewed would be spoken for before I had finished. The baby announcements just keep coming!
This scrappy star was born from the strips on my cutting table. I mixed in a few new stash fabrics for interest this time, but I keep recycling the scraps with the intent they will disappear. (I think they multiply when I look away.) I've been working on accuracy with these set in seams, and this one went smoothly. The only hiccup was one star point flipped around ruining the symmetry of the strips. Tear it out? No way. Babies don't really care, and I'll say it adds to the charm. It does have a very fun, Farmhouse feel to it, I think.
Feathered Star
This EQ7 block project sat on the bottom of a stack neatly arranged on my rotating mat since October. I miss that mat so I made a deal with myself. I would finish the block, and reclaim the mat. I'm halfway now, and am fiddling with it between long arm quilting. I can do one thing just so long until I need a change. I think I will have it done by next week if it can quit giving me fits. I'm not expecting perfection considering this is the first I've ever constructed, but I wish those points were not so elusive.
Scrappy Friendship Stars
No end in sight, yet another baby quilt started with scraps. This may be the 5th baby quilt made with the same yardage I bought last summer. I had just enough background fabric left over from backing scraps to use for the background, but was disappointed after the first block was made. It really needs a solid colored background to pop those stars. I'll add some sashing to the blocks for more color along with a border, and hope those help. I've been nervous at this point before, and happy at the end so I'm not passing judgement quite yet. And, it's a baby quilt. Babies don't care, and it's a good way to test things out.
I hope your weekend is glorious,
the sun shines where you live,
and there are hours and hours to sew.
Come on, Doxie girls.

1. I must be as stupid as a baby, because I can't see that flipped point "mistake," either. I love your Barn Star baby quilt!
2. Your feathered star looks good, too. Are you paper piecing it? I want to do one of those someday, too.
3. Excellent idea to stockpile baby quilts from scraps!
Lucky babies! :)
Love all of these. Don't forget Michelle's Let's Make Baby quilts party. You're really churning out the lovelies.
Love that feathered star! I've always wanted to make one, so I'm enjoying seeing your progress!
The friendship star looks good! Your getting a good stockpile of baby quilts.
I really like the color palette you used in these quilts- something I have never done or thought of. I just love stars and your variety is wonderful. It is so neat to see all these varieties together in your post. A post to make me ponder.
Such a lovely post...great job
You've got a great start on 3 lovely baby quilts. I really like the first one, but the other two are cute too. Happy stitching this weekend.
The star blocks are very pretty. Will make an adorable baby quilt.
I only have one baby quilt to make. Love that scrappy star quilt.
Gorgeous stars x
With the need for so many baby quilts as of lately...remind me not to drink the water at your house :P Or at least in your neck of the woods. Not that I wouldn't love a baby quilt from you, but you get where I'm going. I love that friend ship star block!
