Glitter Progress Week 4: 91 Blocks & Counting
Fun stuff, right? I told you in another post what fun I'd been having pairing up fabrics I might not have used in another quilt, and these couple are good examples. It's just a fun quilt, and I'm trying out lots of combinations. I love the fabrics whether old or new, and am getting a kick out of some of them.
This week's progress report is slower than other weeks. I'd say it's Christmas preparations, but it's actually been extra time spent cutting blocks to have ready over the Christmas to New Year's week. Hours. I will reiterate, I'm glad I have templates, though I'm only using those for the background and cones.

In the meanwhile, I couldn't stand sifting through all the scraps on my cutting table, and grouped the like scraps together. I came up with this improv-ish piece I can do a bit of hand quilting on before I turn it into a bag. It's part of a favorite line of fabrics, Tokyo Train Ride, and I've used them down to the last bits!
Squeezing in one twin quilt before Christmas is a friend of mine. Made almost entirely of batiks, it is a stunning scrap quilt!

I'll leave you with this photo my husband took last weekend. Santa's carriage was zipping down the 2 lane, and he seemed in quite the hurry. With so few days left before Christmas, I was shocked to see him this far south!
May your Christmas or Hanukkah be especially dear to you this year in a world wrought with chaos, and our country on the brink of war. I am in awe at the amount of Glitter blocks you have made!!! I got my templates out and started to sew some blocks out of leftover Christmas fabric. I've made six blocks so far and I'm already ready for something else. They look so great when they're done (your blocks are amazing) but they take me so long to construct. How long does it take you to make one block?
Nice to see block progess. It is a lovely batik scrap quilt. I don't think a lot of people dug themselves out of the hole they were thrust into in 2020. They seem content living in the dark. Light can be tough, but it is the only way to see colors and smell the flowers.
