A small sized finish, but still a finish.
I tried several fabrics to bind this with, but none worked as well as sticking close to the colors nearest the perimeter. My strips were all 2", but when I tried turning them as a normal double thickness the binding seemed too puffy. One layer looked better, and I took up the excess on the backing.
I regret not squaring up the piece better, and it might have benefitted by blocking it. It's a lesson learned. I'll stitch a hanging sleeve and label to it today, and I have a place in mind for it. It's definitely grown on me. If you'd like to read more explaining the process:
Persimmon Dreams is hosting the challenge, and the linky party ends on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at noon CST. Check it out here.
New Advertising Links
It's time to update you on the new advertisements on my sidebar at last. Most have changed this past few months to reflect the changes in my work. I've said before I only want to promote businesses I believe in, and reflect products I use.
Fabric, yarn, art, cake decorating, patterns, classes, tools, etc.!
All in one spot.
Craftsy is a powerhouse site. I know I can rely on it for great deals on fabric and quiliting supplies, but also all the other hobby supplies I need. They also provide online instruction that's tough to beat. I started taking their free classes--there are so many, and then went onto some more amazing instructors through paid classes. The classes are there for me forever, and I can watch whenever and however many times I want.
Did you know they host independent pattern designers on their site? Like mine! Uppsala Stars--in my sidebar, was my first pattern launch in December, and is available to purchase there as a pdf download. Craftsy charges the designer nothing for listing or selling. This is wonderful service provided for free, and promotes the work of people like you and me.
I just love Craftsy!

Blick Art Materials
Years ago as a homeschooler, I got hooked on Dick Blick. They had a detailed catalog, and supplied things I couldn't find anywhere else. They answered my questions, and I got what I needed. It's a third generation company that prides itself on customer service, and low prices. The more I lean toward the art side of things again, the more I use their site. Did you know they host an artist's forum among all the other things? This is a solid resource on top of carrying discounted, quality supplies.
If you've never tried creativebug, you have no idea what you're missing. I snagged a great deal last month for a year's subscription for both a friend and myself. If you want to watch a lot of (or all) the classes at one low price a month, this is the place to go. Need ideas for kids' crafts, holiday decorations, spring spruce up for the house, watercolor lessons, sewing, quilting, crochet? Get over there and check it out. I guarantee you it will not disappoint you, cuz I'm the Doxie Mama!
Why Redbubble? One big reason. Redbubble supports independent artists. The graphics you see on the cell phone skins, t-shirts, bags, hats, etc. are done by independent folks like you. Let's support the company that supports us. Turn your teens loose, and spark their imaginations.
Why Are There Ads In the First Place?
Ads help offset the costs of running a blog. You, the consumer, pay no more for your purchase by clicking through my sidebar button than if you went to the site directly. I may receive a small compensation if you make a purchase. The amount of revenue they produce is minimal, but everything helps. So, I am grateful for you clicking through Pink Doxies. Thank you!
