HST Baby Quilt from Scraps

HST Baby Quilt from Scraps

The saga continues as I open boxes in my studio, and deal with the contents. This was a little project that focused on a template I bought for cheap at a Quilter's Corner. Two fabrics were placed with right sides facing, and you used the template to mark it. It had openings you could draw diagonal lines on, and then you sewed all the triangles at once. Then you cut them out, pressed, and assembled into a block.

When I opened the box, I had even cut the watery blue squares to alternate the HST blocks so this was a super easy project to complete. I added a pale yellow border, and a binding made from a digital print of dots. It's going to a mom who is having a little boy, and I'm ahead of the game now.

It wasn't until I was ready to post this that I saw one block is turned the wrong way. Can you find it? I do like an I Spy element to quilts, but not this way. Yes, I have an I Spy UFO out there too so you'll be seeing more of that.

Another one done, and just in time. Spring is almost here.

The lettuce I planted last August has lasted the winter for us. It's coming back strong after picking, and will last until the winter/spring planted crops come on.

Our spring in Ohio has been glorious, and I've spent days already removing weeds that never seem to stop.

I had an accidental freeze in my greenhouse in January, and it hit hard. Many of the geraniums are coming back, but some tender plants didn't make it. In a few short weeks I'm already on the other end of the problem, and lost some pansy starts to overheating already. It's a fiddly hobby.

In a few short weeks, I will be scrambling for more shelving and lights. Let's hope spring comes in like a lamb, and we have a warm Easter for hunting eggs. I am truly tired of the snow, but bracing for a little forecast for next week. Can't imagine when it's almost 70 again today. Typical Ohio.

Snow days are Sew days.
Come on, Doxie girls.
Lets go sew.
