First Side Setting Block for Star Upon Stars

1st Side Setting Block

Using the leftover strips from the last block I made, I flipped the points around to see if I could give it a different look. I really love the red squiggles in the outer points in the block above! The background is more cream than white, and the turquoise stars are solids instead of a mix of fabrics. It works for me, and was a great use of leftover strips so a super short cut!

Last block using the same fabrics

I'll keep these a fair distance apart in the setting, and don't think it will be a problem.

This was my intended pull for the next star. I spent time looking at my past blocks, and what I did and didn't like. One issue was how larger florals don't look that great toward the center of these stars. So I switched it out with another color, and added another to have 9. That's underway, and I'll give you a peek at the block next week.

Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! I hope you have some time to play with your fabric too.

Come on, Doxie girls.
Let's go sew.
