Quilted Zombies: Heating Pad Cover & Body Pillow

Heat Seeking Zombies

Years ago I made one of our sons a zombie quilt. One of our daughters fell in love with the fabric. Would I make her one, too, please? Sure, if I had enough fabric, but sadly there was not. So, I promised a smaller project, and we all know how those promises go. The shoemaker's children go barefoot! This week I kept my promise.

Would you like a tutorial to make your own?

I added some 3 leaved plants, and poisonous quilting motifs to this project to jazz it up.

And this project benefited from some upcycling, too. My daughter brought home a fitted sheet that had lost its elastic so I cut it down. It became a body pillow cover and the lining of the heating pad cover. Win, win, and yards left over for something else.

Checking this one off the list,
and moving on.

Come on, Doxie girls.
Let's go sew.

What a darling project! I love how you quilted it, too. You know, I have so many people I want to make quilts for on a list inside my head; maybe it's time to consider smaller projects for some of them like what you've done here.

Well , I am in my 50s and I would secretly like a zombie quilt too . Wouldn't like to meet one in real life though

Fantastic idea to cover the heating pad. I'll be bookmarking this for later. Thanks.

That looks really nice! Perfect fit, great quilting, and fun fabric - all help to ease the pain.
