Christmas In My Heart Day #4 and A Trunk Show

Welcome to Day 5 of the
Christmas in My Heart Blog Hop!

I know everyone has had fun blog hopping, and gotten some inspiring ideas for the holidays. I hope you've all entered for the $25 gift certificate each day sponsored by The Fat Quarter Shop, and many of the featured blogs have had giveaways of their own. It's been fun, and we have 2 more days to go!

Typical of the holidays, there are 2 parties scheduled for the same time. Soma at Whims and Fancies is hostessing a wonderful event she created right now called Trunk Full of Quilts. It's simply an online trunk show to show off your favorite makes. Quilts, bags, pillows, whatever trips your fancy!

Online Quilt Trunk Show

Your project doesn't have to be from this year, but does have to be finished. I picked finishes all from this year except for the one below. It's still one of my all time favorites.

Quilts have a completely different meaning for the maker than the recipient. We love them for another reason. I think about the person the quilt is intended for the entire time I'm creating, and believe my emotions are layered in the batting and woven in the threads.

They're infused with our love...and occasionaly a few little brown hairs here.

Trunk shows are a fun way to see someone's completed projects, but I think the they're most enjoyable for the maker. Visiting old projects is like catching up with a friend!

At one point there were so many UFO's to haul around, I had to make a bag to do it.

Enjoy the ones you haven't seen, and find the links for all the Christmas In My Heart hop at the bottom.

This was the year for lots and lots of hearts, and I thought that went well with the hop theme. It was a suggestion for all participants to use in their own projects for the hop. Can you guess what's going to be in my new pattern tomorrow?

Pop in tomorrow for the great reveal.
The girls will be resting up for the event.

The rules are the same each day of the hop. Visit any or all the blogs, leave a sweet comment, and click on the Rafflecopter entry when you're done. You can log in with just your email. Follow the prompts, and hope you win that $25 gift certificate from The Fat Quarter Shop. Have fun, and good luck!

I agree - it is great for a quilt maker to be able to revisit her (sometimes his) work. I particularly like your spider web quilt - very dramatic. Thanks for a wonderful trunk show!

Thank you. Those are Charlie Harper prints that I had made a dog bed from, and couldn't bear to let the scraps sit. I'm getting ready to hang it as it's that time of year again.
