Just a One Shot Wonder today. My design for the 2015 Modern Quilt Guild Challenge for Riley Blake Designs is together this morning at last. I hunkered down yesterday, and finished the main body. The final borders were attached this morning after debating those geometric corners. I got by with a little help from my friends giving their opinions. I think they made a good call, don't you?
I'm dashing off for thread, and I can see a firm finish by late afternoon. I must admit I wasn't as thrilled with the beginning as I am with the finish. Medallions have a special charm to them, I think, and there will be more in this quilter's future.
Heads up for tomorrow's linky party. It starts tonight at midnight EST, and will be a multiple link up again. My week to be featured with several other bloggers in the 2015 New Bloggers' Blog Hop starts Monday. I'll have links for you to visit all of us, so stop in here for sure.

This is just lovely. I like the aqua color in particular, and the geometric corners are great! And I agree, medallions always look better finished than they do in progress.
Such a great flimsy here, Julie! I love love love it. Yes the geometric corners really add a 'zip' to it, and I am SO impressed with those birds (second time I'm saying this, I know) but none are flying upside down! Very very good attention to detail and obviously lots of thought went into this.
Yes! I love how you added in the red, Julie. Such a great accent colour that gives the fabric palette more depth. Thanks for linking up to TGIFF!
Oh isn't it lovely - It's one of those patterns that you just have to keep looking and looking at, and every time you see something new!
Julie this is gorgeous! You really met the challenge, I cannot wait to see it after you quilt it! Beautifully done!
Very nicely done!
I like the geometric corners and really like how you have showcased the fabric in this design.
