Zipper Bags Simplified: Part 3 of 4

Replace the sewn pieces on your workspace in the same position. Flip the backing section on top of the zipper section, and sew to the out facing only just as you did with the first piece.

Zipper Bags Simplified: Part 2 of 4

This is a continuation of Zipper Bags Simplified: Part 1 of 4

Press with a warm iron staying away from the nylon teeth. A hot iron may damage the zipper. (Feel relieved that the hardest part is over.)

Zipper Bags Simplified: Part 1 of 4

Zipper bags are one of my favorite things to make. I have tried to produce the simplest tutorial to help even a beginner make one successfully. Please let me know if you have any questions, or I can make something more understandable.

Pet Project Show #33: Adding to the Stash

A sale from Fabricworm was too good to pass up. The joy about buying online is the selection seems limitless, but that also makes it harder to choose. Depending on whether you're buying fabric to use personally or to manufacture goods makes a difference. Just because we like it doesn't mean someone else will. I try to keep to the 'middle of the road' on some fabrics, but others are just indulgences.

Perfecting the Pouch-Zipper Bags Revisited

"The essential conditions of everything we do must be choice, love, passion."
                                      ~Nadia Boulanger

Immediately after a quilt top finish, I like to stop for a breather and clean the studio. Organizing is the therapy I need before saying hello to the next new thing. I sorted the scrap pile I'd made creating the Moda Modern, and when I opened my bins to put them away, it was like the scene from Jumanji where Alan Parrish was sucked into the board game.

Moda Modern Building Blocks Flimsy Finish

Moda Modern Building Blocks
The Print Version

Warning: This pattern may be addicitive.
Proceed with caution!

Many of you know I had no intention to make this quilt. I only wanted to experiment, and try a few blocks. One thing led to the next, the momentum built, and it became a highly addictive project. It spanned months, and dominated my design wall and my attention.

Pet Project #32 & Close, But No Cigar On Moda Building Blocks

I sincerely believed I would have a whole flimsy to show off today, but if you follow Pink Doxies on Facebook, you'll know I played hooky with my girls yesterday. It was worth it. Family first, right? We had a ball at IKEA, one of our favorite spots.

One Year Blogiversary & Moda Modern Progress

Do you know the feeling of the 3rd lap while running a mile? You've used up a lot of energy, and still need to pull off that last burst? I'm there. Yesterday was a good day even though I only added a few new blocks. I am working strategically, and finishing up sections. These 2 below are sewn together now. There are 12 more 6" blocks to go, but the section top left can be sewn together. Half the top will be finished by afternoon, and I'm focused on my goal.

Moda Modern Building Blocks #7 & Rotary Cutting Tips

There's little to say except I'm pushing through the 6" blocks. If I have half an hour to myself I'll hustle to the studio to cut a couple out, and see how far I can get.

The Pet Project Show #31--Show Stoppers

Pet Project Show

It's the first Saturday of August already, and time to show off a few of the Doxie girls' and my favorite link ups from the past month. Thank you all for your wonderful link ups! I look forward to seeing your work here, and so many of us have become friends because of it. Behind each picture is a story, a post, and a person. You are invited into that story by visiting and leaving a comment. Comments are honey to bloggers' hearts. Speaking of hearts...
