Spin Drift:3

Oh, the Romance of Rome!

As they say, "All roads lead to Rome", but have you ever been to Rome? It was many moons past for me, but it is a city still etched in my memory. Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica, and a shabby pensione that overlooked a courtyard fountain. I was 16, and backpacking across Europe--yes, I had a young, daring spirit even then, not to mention trusting parents, and Rome was--hot. Don't laugh, but that was absolutely one of my most vivid memories. There was a heat wave, and I was carrying an overloaded pack. See how I can bring a romantic travel experience down to a base level?

But this graphic fabric was so perfect as the center for my third plate, and remember what I said about changing colors and palettes?  It was a cool pastel after those heavy colors, and maybe I was looking to change some of my memories for the better. Who knows?

My two little Doxie sisters had been very good girls up to this point, but the minute I was done with my work it was time for a run in the yard. The cold didn't stop a game of ball, and some relief for my neck and shoulders after stitching this one down.

See you tomorrow!

Come on, Doxie girls.
Let's go sew.

I am amazed how you were able to take so many different fabrics and make them all work in a unified and great design. Wow.

That center is so eye catching. You are making great progress. You know, I have a pooch...three really. One (little brown dog who is a Min Pin) likes to jump up on the tables and shelves in my "room" He loves tomato pin cushions which I have had to hide. He found a little Homie that I was going to put in my great grandson's Valentine box. (do you remember Homies...they were in gum ball machines back in the 90s). Today I am missing my Eczema hand creme. I'm hoping it's somewhere other than his stomach, lol.
