HST Quilt: Quilted and Bound & Pet Project Show #9

Quilted and bound!

It's always a personal little triumph when we can say,
"I'm done. Yeah!"

My project stack is piling up, and I need to get things
moving. Why is it that we can cut and piece all day,
but we need that special mood to sit and machine quilt?

Or is it just me?

I knew I was taking my little jaunt into the sunshine,

so I put my foot to the pedal last Saturday and sewed.
This was one long quilt project, but I learned so much.
The next HST quilt will be a snap.
Today I bound it inspite of dealing with a bug
I picked up while away. Really folks, you have to
be next to the end to not be able to sew, right?

When I bought the backing, I was guesstimating on how

much I'd need. I think I bought 2 1/2 yards. I had a 6"
square left after I'd dug out the undersized blocks
from my scrap pile. I hadn't taken into consideration
that the fabric had directionality, and it took creative
piecing. The little blocks gave a little interest and
pop to the orange backing.

Quilt Stats
Approximately 50" x 60"
Fabric is "Garden" by Freespirit
Binding is Oakshott Cotton in purple
Batting is Warm & Natural
All thread is Gutterman
Straight stitched with a walking foot on a
Janome Memory Craft

Also, the Saturday Pet Project Show is here a day

early considering my health.
Let's get it all started, and then I will go back to bed.

It's Saturday, and time for the weekly
Pink Doxies
Pet Project Show.
Add your link here every Saturday.

Rules

Do we have to have rules?

No worries! It's EASY.

1. Use the blue 'Add Your Link' button (below left) to upload a picture of something you've created in the past week. Any kind of handiwork--share it now! It can be a work in progress, finally finished, or even your fab new fabric. Whatever it is that inspired you to create this week, we'd like to see it here.

2. Please link to a specific post, and not just your blog address. It makes it easier for someone following your link to find your project.

3. Provide a backlink to Pink Doxies with a link in your post, or pick up our Pet Project Show button below. Copy and paste into the 'Add Image by HTML' box to create the Pet Show widget on your page.

-OR-
1. You can link up to your Instagram. Click on the Instagram icon at the bottom of the link up screen. The URL of your Instagram feed will be your link. Please hashtag #pinkdoxiespetproject

Either way you link up, remember it's a party here, so schmooze with the crowd! Visit others who've linked up. Leave a comment so they know what you like about their work. The people to either side of your link would work or their neighbors, too.

Don't miss a post!
Follow me on Bloglovin' or by email.

The Linky Party starts now, and runs until Monday, March 2nd  at midnight.
Spread the word, and tell all your stitchy friends.

  3. Great finish, I just had a finish recently that was the biggest sigh of relief that gratifying feeling of a finish makes me wonder why I don't finish projects more often. Nice straight lines on the quilting, and I really like that you offset the focal point. I think that always makes a quilt more interesting!

  9. Cute quilt. It's always fun to see leftover blocks incorporated into the backs. They really pop on the bright mustard.
