Sweet Sunday Daydream

I'd say this large block is very Florida-ish.
Wouldn't you?

The zig-zag is actually a fussy cut chevron, and while I didn't try to match the lines themselves, I did try to balance them opposite each other. It only takes one time of not doing this to see how wonky your block can look--or maybe that's what you're after. Either way, look closely at your patterned fabrics to see if there's an interesting 'fussy cut' hiding inside.

Remember how I said the hexies were addictive? I've added a few more to my collection. While we relaxed, I hand-sewed. The colors weren't necessarily picked out for this quilt, but dependent on what I brought along. (Oh, and a few Kaffe Fassett fat quarters I found at the local fabric store on a bike ride.)

I thought you should see an overview of all the blocks just to get an idea of size comparisons. (The hexies are 6" edge to edge.) I'll be making more blocks of similar sizes this week, even if it just means framing some out. I'm not certain all the blocks belong yet, but I am getting some ideas of how to combine them. That will be next week's work.

I hope your creative juices are flowing, and you're sewing away. We'll soon be home to the Doxie girls, and the rest of the family, and I might just squeeze in a little time with them to sew yet.
