Modern Improv Top Assembled

There's that defining moment when you sew the very last seam, and flip that top open to see what you hope is a beautiful piece of work. Your heart almost stops, and your breath is shallow. I looked. It was good. I hurried upstairs to show my husband, and he said, "That's nice. Is it supposed to look like that?" No, there was no ball game on, and I had woken him up. He was just tired from working on the barn, and I forgave him. But, what was really spectacular was the way the afternoon sun was shining through the quilt, and I said, "Yes! Isn't that neat?"
I immediately taped it to the window to get a shot before the light was gone.

This changes how I'm looking at the whole wall hanging. Why couldn't I use an ultra-light backing and use it in a window? Hmmm. It is interesting.

Here's an outside shot, and the colors are true.

The barn is getting closer to being stripped, and the materials salvaged. A little more to go, and demolition is next. The four-legged lawn ornaments are very curious about the whole process out there, but they have a new, temporary fence to keep them back, and out of construction danger. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather the next 2 weeks.

Lots of excitement here today.
Come on, Doxie Girls.
Mama's got to go sew.
