Can You Feel the Love?

Yesterday afternoon I zipped together the rest of the strips on the Love quilt. I've talked about this pattern the last few days. It's from the cover of "Sunday Morning Quilts" by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison. Wow, it's a loud one even for me--don't you love it? I loosely used the same colors, but since it was what I had on hand, it's my own flavor. I would call it "Intense". Today I need to focus on finding a suitable backing. The batting is already in my stash since I buy it in bulk when it goes on sale.

I keep thinking about what I'm going to use pattern-wise to machine quilt it. Concentric hearts would be cute, or all over curlies. The same pattern could be used in different scale if I keep to each strip. This is a hard decision for a new quilter. Any ideas? I was surprised of the change I saw happen in the Plus One from finishing the top to finishing the quilting. It subdued the color and pattern somehow. With that in mind, the colors may tone down here.

We're lucky we have lots of options for fabric hunting locally. One store, The Material Girl Fabric Outlet, has recently opened at her new location. This is the building you're looking for, and it's through the first floor, and up the stairs. Just ask.

127 Canal Street, Bolivar, Ohio 44612

It's packed wall to wall with discounted fabric, and lots of other goodies. Wendy is open limited hours or by appointment. Friday and Saturday 10-3. To contact her, follow the above link to her website. We popped in last Saturday, and she warned us she was still in a state of move-in. Wendy has a good eye for color, and was so happy to help find just the right fabric.Check her store out soon.

I found a stack of eclectic fabrics to add to my stash, too.Oh, I felt the love there, girls.

There's fabric to put away, and quilts to dream up today!

Come on, Doxie girls.
Let's go sew.
