Tokyomilk: Neptune & the Mermaids
I’ve been playing around posting from my phone today so if you get multiple versions of this post—sorry! It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten super excited about a new quilt. You know how different it is when you start a quilt, and the fabric is good, or when you start a quilt knowing it’s perfect! I starting looking for fabrics to make a smaller rendition of Spin Drift for a class I’m teaching this summer. I’ve been staring at this small grouping for over a year, and knew it would be spectacular!
Three Crafty Ladies in Sanibel, Florida is the Go To shop for any sea themed fabrics. I popped in to find some supporting fabrics for the dresden plates, and I was not disappointed.
This particular print is not from the line, and I think it breaks up the sameness. The colors are complementary, and it reminds me of the plastic aquarium plants kids like, but it’s odd enough to make you look twice.
These will make great additions to some of the blade fabrics I’ve pulled already.
And sitting among the bolts, I scored another piece I didn’t have. What an epic line of fabric! Maybe the perfect surprise backing?
Come on, Doxie girls.
Let’s go sew.

Boy, I think I need you to buy my fabrics for me. Yours are so cool. Love all the colors. Would love to make a Spin Drift sometime. Great circles of fabric you chose.
