Three Naked Ladies Blooming In the Moonlight Finish
Isn't that a grabby title? I thought so. (wink-wink)
Still dedicated to digging out my languishing UFO/WIP/PUPs, I pulled the Three Naked Ladies Blooming In the Moonlight last week. (This project is 2 1/2 years old.) I'm hoping most of you can't read that.
I pinned it to the design wall with two choices of binding, and walked past it for about a week. Because it was an art quilt based on fantasy, I chose the pink over a darker blue. I did not over-think this. Shoot! If the binding turned out awful, I could always take it off, and try another, right? This is not life and death. It's just binding, and I like pink, as most of you know.
Check out these posts below to get the full scoop on this completely hand-dyed project, and many details of all the layers. This definitely rates up there with one of my all time favorites.

Ok, first I want to say that I love this quilt!....and am so glad you have finished it. The binding choice is great.....but....I have a suggestion for "next time", if you haven't already tried it. Have you ever applied a "facing" to a quilt instead of binding? I think it looks great on artsy quilts and I plan on doing it on my current project as soon as it's quilted next week. Here is the tutorial that I follow, which is very good and easy to follow...https://thesillyboodilly.blogspot.com/2012/09/tutorial-super-duper-easy-way-to-face.html
I hope you give it a try sometime, if you haven't already! xo
Plus, is there a story on the title of your quilt? I just need to know, lol
This is a great quilt! I love the colors, including the pink binding and all that fabulous quilting. Even the back looks super!
I remember this quilt. So nice to see 3 Ladies completed with that pink binding! Isn't it funny that we set some quilts aside with so little needed to finish them?
I remember this quilt! I assumed you had finished it...but it is now and that's all that matters! The name has always grabbed my attention. I chuckle every time I see it!
Such a fun quilt!
Wow! I love this piece. I had to go back and read the other posts about it and remember reading them before but enjoying seeing your thought process again. You really are an incredibly gifted fiber artist!! Oh, I love the name, too. I think this piece should be hanging in a museum.
Pretty mini! Love the embellishments, the quilting, and the binding, and... well, everything ;)
You certainly are a versatile quilter. One day precise complicated piecing and another, freewheeling with a pink binding. Hope you had fun with it.
This is absolutely delightful!
Oops. Messed up my URL. Will try again.
It's really beautiful Julie with a great balance of colour.
Ok, I'll admit the title peaked my curiousity. Ha! I like the finish with the quilting and the binding. And yes, I could read it, but who's counting? :-)
Be still my beating heart! This is gorgeous! It’s definitely time for it to come out of the closet!
Pink was perfect! those ladies are finally on display and they are glorious. Congrats on the finish!
What a great finish (and title!) definitely one to celebrate! Thanks for linking it up to TGIFF too
This is a gorgeous finish; especially love your hand blanket stitches. As for the risque title -- you know you are going to be coming up in some interesting late-night Google searches now... That could be a good thing. Those people need to get their minds out of the gutter and a sensible hobby like quilting could be just the thing! ;-)
Congrats on your finish. It's very cool. Pink was definitely the right choice!
This is a beautiful finish and I love the pink binding. Congrats on finishing up a UFO :)
