This week we got a bonus block to finish. Three instead of two, and a Bingo game to link up to. Angie at Gnome Angel picked 5 of the blocks sewn so far to creat a Bingo game. Snap your photo, link it up, and you're entered. I'm a suck for games and gimmicks. Why does a link up make it more fun?
The strange but true story is that earlier in the week I picked this block to do for kicks. When it was announced for Bingo, I felt lucky! Later today when I started my other two, things started going wrong. It never pays to hurry.
One of the Marti Michell templates could be used to make both blocks this week. I grabbed what I thought was the correct triangle, and it was a disaster. My one comment I can share with you is, "This is like trying to hold onto a #@*&10 cent goldfish!"
I made several twice.
Imagine my surprise when I realized I was making a 3.5" finished block instead of a 6".
I kept going with the second one, but by my third seam I had made another mistake. 2.0mm seams are not fun to rip, and I decided to call it quits. Tomorrow will be just as good as today, and I will have less pressure.

If you think I've been missing here in QBL for a while, you're right. I've been busy sewing my little heart out for the Christmas in My Heart Blog Hop that starts Thursday, November 12th. (This week, folks!) Marian at Seams to Be Sew is hosting the hop for 32 bloggers, and will be giving away a little gift every day for visiting her. The Fat Quarter Shop is sponsoring more Christmas Giveaways for YOU, and I will bring you news and the list here every day of the hop. I can't wait to see the goodies! As for me, I will be launching my first pattern on my day of my post, Wednesday, November 18th. I hope you like Uppsala Stars as much as I have writing and making it. Until later this week...
