Building a Log Cabin with Fabric

I feel like I've been playing catch-up all week. Whew!
Today I marked my calendar off just for me, and just to sew.
I needed a fabric fix in the worst way!

Remember my Log Cabin blocks? Last night I sewed up the pale greens.

This morning I plunged into the corals...

and the chocolates!
There's quite an assortment of fabrics in each of these.
This quilt was my excuse to 'collect' them this past fall.

It's so interesting for me to show you these blocks individually and up close.
The patterns are powerful, and even by my standard, there's at lot going on here.
Now scroll down for the overall view as I saw it for the first time today.
The pink was the first block finished last week here.

See how the colors and patterns melt and blend to give each circle depth and dimension?
Now the secondary pattern with the blues is visible.
I'm just loving this so far!

This is not going nearly as fast as I thought it would.
It takes a fair amount of time to get balance within the block when I'm laying it out.
Pale yellow is next, and maybe a dark blue. Hmmm.

The girls have been getting bored with me sewing today.
As soon as I zip off a raveled edge, they're off with it.
I think it's time for a walk in the woods with the Doxie Girls.

Tomorrow I'm off to sew with friends at Joann's.
I'm so thankful for the friendships I've found through quilting.

I'm linking up today's blog with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric AddictSew Fresh QuiltsThankful Thursday with JetGirl,  Needle and Thread Thursdays with My Quilt Infatuation, and

And don't forget the Pet Project Show Linky Party starts Saturday with a special post and Giveaway,
and stays open through Monday.

Until tomorrow--
Make haste,
and go Sew.
