I had thought it would be so cute to have a reversible side to the quilt, and could envision it hanging off the sides of the bed to show it off. This was before my plan to longarm quilt it, and I was trying to figure out how to make it all work while allowing the extra inches necessary for shrinkage, etc. I had already cut the 5.5-6 yards in half, and was laying it on the table when I accidentally laid it with borders mirroring each other instead of on the edges. I thought it looked so much better that way, and even gave a stripe-like effect down the center of the backing. I couldn't believe it hadn't entered my mind before, but I think it was the better choice.<br /><br />I'm glad you like it. I think pieced backings are the bomb! They add that surprise element, and even a mediocre top can be carried with an awesome backing. As Emeril says, "Bam! Let's kick it up a notch!"<br /><br />JulieJuliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02834496271292973632noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042289181469558257.post-57072914828862024982015-06-24T14:51:17.641-04:002015-06-24T14:51:17.641-04:00Your quilting is beautiful. I've noticed that border prints are making a bit of a come back. I like the idea of using them in a quilt!SuperMomNoCapehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12477612688870640482noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5042289181469558257.post-27495462228647889272015-06-24T09:06:04.331-04:002015-06-24T09:06:04.331-04:00The back of your quilt is just as cute as the fron...The back of your quilt is just as cute as the front. Is it two pieces of fabric pieced together? I have to admit when it comes to backings, I usually just choose a wide backing fabric similar to my front and run with it. But this is so sweet that it makes me think maybe I should put some more thought into it.Tish Stemplehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02570537698525430053noreply@blogger.com
